Parallel computation Tab
The following dialog box appears after clicking on the Parallel computation tab of the Edit Solution Parameters dialog box.
?Parallel SYSNOISE Options
You can select the Parallel Computation option to activate a parallel computation process. The type of MPI (Message Passing Interface) can be chosen from the MPI Libraries option. A MPI Native is only available on certain Unix systems, and it only supports SMP machines, not clusters. A MPI-CH (Public Domain) is available on all operating systems, and it allows the use of clusters. The Number of Processes must be entered in case of a MPI Native operation (SMP machines).
The Type of Parallelism can be selected either by selecting the Frequency Level or Matrix Level radio buttons. A Frequency Level means that the frequency range to be computed will be divided into equal parts and each will be computed on one node. This is beneficial to accelerate the solution of any size of problem. A Matrix Level means that the assembled system matrix at one frequency will be processed on several nodes. This is mostly beneficial for very large problems (Only available for Indirect BEM, with in core solution).
?Definition of Slave Nodes
This option allows you to specify the Machine Name and Local SYSNOISE Script Path. The slave nodes can be given, selected/deselected and removed for MPI-CH (Public Domain). It is possible to define the same machine several times (thereby enabling multiple SYSNOISE solver processes on the same machine in parallel).
