It is good to include the material and geometric nonlinearity. The contact can be defined by contact manager or interface.
Just viewed your model and I would like to discuss with you regarding the tie definition.
In your tie definition, you activated both the pisition tolerance and adjust It is possible ?
Using Adjust will force nodes on slave surface to lie in the master surface. Concurrently, you also specify the posittion tolerance which will tile the nodes within this tolerance.
So what will happen ?
Regarding the multiple step definition in Hypermesh, you can
1: Copy/paste the previous load step file and modify it according to your request to output and loading/uinloading conditions. this can be done in your abaqus deck input file. you do not need to touch Hypermesh.
2: Define another outputblock and load control collector, generate another load step definition.
