How do I create a spiral or helix geometry object in FEMLAB?
Currently, the Matlab interface is required to implement this. The available commands are helix1, helix2, helix3, and genextrude which produce line helices, face object helices, and solid object helices, respectively. These m-files create FEMLAB geometry objects in the Matlab workspace which can be imported into the FEMLAB GUI. While helix2.m and helix3.m commands produce circular cross sections, genextrude.m creates spirals or helices of arbitrary cross sections. Further help is provided at the Matlab command line. Typing the commands help helix1, help helix2, help helix3, and help genextrude will invoke the online documentation. Note that there are further variations of genextrude.m. Here are some examples.
