what units are used by abaqus5.8. Can we change the default system of units? How about version 6.3? do they use the same unit system?

in general, they use the SI units.
you need not change it and only have to use the same or consistant unit in your analying.(e.g. mm, cm, m)

you may think it whatever you want. but you need remeber that in the result, the data you get are the according with you used ahead.
