看到这个,我只能说震撼。Altair真的是太牛了。
solidThinking Inspired is a shape generation laboratory that uses mathematical algorithms to produce organic shapes in response to environmental conditions like forces and pressures. The resulting shapes are polymeshes you can export to modeling systems like solidThinking as a source of inspiration for your designs. You can also generate .stl files for rapid prototyping.
Because Inspired produces structural shapes in response to applied forces, these shapes are not only esthetically interesting, they are also:
· | Well-adapted to their intended structural function |
· | Efficient because they economize the use of material |
· | Conducive to manufacturing processes like extrusion, casting, stamping, etc. |
· | Less likely to be radically changed by downstream engineering |
What is Morphogenesis?
Morphogenesis is the process of generating a shape in response to environmental stimuli like forces and pressures. Morphogenesis carves material away from a solid part, creating the lightest shape possible to resist the forces that you apply to it. You perform morphogenesis by defining a design space
(the initial solid part), one or more environments
which contain
forces and supports, and some optional shape controls. Once you have defined these, you run morphogenesis and await the results, which can take a few minutes to a few hours depending on the complexity of the model. Once the results are complete, you can interactively explore variations of the resulting shape.
