An Enterprise Level CAE Solution enabling “Concept to Product”
January 22, 2010 — Engineering Technology Associates, Inc. (ETA) has undergone a complete restructuring of its
software line-up and will be releasing the result of that effort this year with its release of an enterprise level CAE software
solution, Inventium Suite. Inventium’s first set of tools will be available this February, in the form of an advanced
Pre & Post processor, called PreSys.
The Inventium Suite will include some progressive new tools, while retaining ETA’s legacy software products VPG
and DYNAFORM. Inventium’s unified and streamlined product architecture will provide users access to all of the
suite’s software tools. By design, Inventium products will offer a high performance modeling and post-processing
system, while providing a robust path for the integration of new tools and third party applications.
The Inventium architecture was developed with flexibility and configurability in mind. It allows the user to change the way
their software appears and behaves. New Menus or Toolbars may be created to meet the user’s specific needs,
while pre-configured menus can be modified as desired. For example, if the user is not creating models which use solid
elements, he or she may deactivate all functions relating to that type of task in the user toolbars and menus to simplify
the interface. Similarly, the user can create a customized toolbar containing ‘favorites’, or frequently
accessed functions.
Being released first is the core FE modeling toolset, PreSys (more info), the successor to ETA’s VPG/PrePost
and FEMB products. PreSys was developed through the experience of these legacy products, combined with the recent
addition of 150 new or improved features, aligned with the user-friendly Inventium architecture. This solver-neutral
product promises to immediately place PreSys in a top position in the FE pre/post processor market.
When the user opens PreSys (view screenshot) for the first time, he or she will immediately notice the easy to use
interface, with drop-down menus and toolbars, increased graphics speed and detailed graphics capabilities. Other
notable features include the ability to open and operate on multiple models and review simulation results along with
model data and a scripting interface that will allow him or her to capture, replay and modify processes, and interact with
third party applications. These types of capabilities, combined with powerful, robust and accurate modelling functions,
promise to change the way that engineers develop products and will unlock the potential of optimization software for the
use in everyday problems.
Advanced Product Development engineers working as structural analysts for the world’s largest automotive
manufacturers established ETA in 1983. ETA’s expertise in the areas of vehicle durability, NVH, metal forming,
crashworthiness, occupant safety and product design have provided an intimate knowledge of the challenges and needs
of the product development engineer. Proactive in the creation and implementation of new analysis methods and
software, ETA is the developer of the Inventium Suite, DYNAFORM and VPG. ETA is a subsidiary of Cranes Software
International Limited. |
