What is ESI_Techgen?
iSIGHT provides a flexible means to add new optimization techniques that are written in FORTRAN, C, or C++. Once defined to iSIGHT, new optimization routines can be used in an identical manner to built-in iSIGHT routines.
Over the years, many optimization techniques have been introduced. Each of these techniques requires the user to modify their simulation programs to fit the control, problem formulation, initialization, data structures, and error handling dictated by the technique. iSIGHT does not require the user to modify their simulation programs but does require the user to integrate the optimization technique using a provided set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to provide the interface between iSIGHT and the control, problem formulation, and data structures required by the optimization technique.
