Duties and Responsibilities:
[*] Assist in sample preparation and development of composites and nanocomposites, Perform machining of composites and nanocomposites samples based on ASTM Standards, Perform testing of composites and nanocomposites samples based on ASTM Standards, Help with data reduction and analysis, Help with generating tables and graphs for samples prior and after testing, Working with Solid Works & ANSYS Solid Modeling & Finite Element Analysis, Writing reports and preparing presentations on the work accomplished.
Minimum Qualifications:
[*] :Mechanical Engineering Master’s Graduate Student, Proficiency with machining such as cutting, drilling, grinding, benders, lathe, milling, etc. (including Polymers, Composites, Metals, and Metallic Alloys), Familiarity with mechanical testing machines such as Instron., Familiarity with testing based on ASTM Standards (including Polymers, Composites, Metals, and Metallic Alloys), Familiarity with Macintosh and IBM environments, Familiarity with computers, programming, and the use of MatLab, Knowledge of LabView and/or Data Acquisition software for mechanical testing, Proficiency with MS Word, Power Point, and Excel Microsoft, Familiarity with Solid Works & ANSYS Solid Modeling & Finite Element Analysis, Skill of writing technical reports and preparing technical presentations.
