DEFORM can be run in two modes, the GUI mode and the text-only mode. The text -only mode of DEFORM will be run so that the scripting-based automation procedure can be implemented. The text-only mode of DEFORM is based on scripts. Each functionality, like preprocessing, rezoning, simulation running, etc. is called from a specific script. The scripts are glued together by a main control program that calls the scripts sequentially. State information between the modules is transferred via temporary files.
