As a Premier Elite Partner with Intel, COMSOL is able to test its ability utilizing multi-core systems using Intel’s Concurrency Checker. This was run on COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4.2a and I’ve just uploaded the report on Intel’s website.
Their conclusions were:
“Congratulations! Your application can do 4.41 times as much work on an 8-core system than on a single-core system. This score meets or exceeds our suggested minimum value and is greater than or equal to 88% of applications tested on 8-core systems.”
We ran this using the stress analysis of a car wheel as the test subject:
