1、Principles of Computational Fluid Dynamics
Title: Principles of Computational Fluid Dynamics
ISBN: 3540678530
Author: Pieter Wesseling
Publisher: Springer
Edition: 1 edition (January 15, 2001)
Pages: 644 pages
URL: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obido ... h=ASIN%2F3540678530
Summary:
The book is aimed at graduate students, researchers, engineers and physicists involved in fluid computations. An up-to-date account is given of the present state of the art of numerical methods employed in computational fluid dynamics. The underlying numerical principles are treated with a fair amount of detail, using elementary methods. Attention is given to the difficulties arising from geometric complexity of the flow domain. Uniform accuracy for singular perturbation problems is studied, pointing the way to accurate computation of flows at high Reynolds number. Unified methods for compressible and incompressible flows are discussed. A treatment of the shallow-water equations is included. A basic introduction is given to efficient iterative solution methods. Many pointers are given to the current literature, facilitating further study.

2、Physics of Rotating Fluids
Title: Physics of Rotating Fluids
ISBN: 3540675140
Author: Christoph Egbers (Editor), Gerd Pfister (Editor)
Publisher: Springer
Edition: 1 edition (November 27, 2000)
Pages: 453 pages
URL: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obido ... h=ASIN%2F3540675140
Summary:
This book is devoted to recent developments in the field of rotating fluids, in particular the study of Taylor--Couette flow, spherical Couette flow, planar Couette flow, as well as rotating annulus flow. Besides a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art, possible future directions in this research field are investigated. The first part of this volume presents several new results in the classical Taylor--Couette system covering diverse theoretical, experimental and numerical work on bifurcation theory, influence of boundary conditions, counter-rotating flows, spiral vortices and many others. The second part focuses on spherical Couette flows, including isothermal flows, thermal convective motion, as well as magnetohydrodynamics in spherical shells. The remaining parts are devoted to Goertler vortices, rotating annulus flows, as well as superfluid Couette flows. The present book will be of interest to all researchers and graduate students working actively in the field.

3、Computational Methods for Fluid Dynamics
Title: Computational Methods for Fluid Dynamics
ISBN: 3540420746
Author: Joel H. Ferziger / Milovan Peric
Publisher: Springer
Edition: 3 edition (December 15, 2001)
Pages: 423 pages
URL: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obido ... h=ASIN%2F3540420746
Summary:
In its 3rd revised and extended edition the book offers an overview of the techniques used to solve problems in fluid mechanics on computers and describes in detail those most often used in practice. Included are advanced methods in computational fluid dynamics, like direct and large-eddy simulation of turbulence, multigrid methods, parallel computing, moving grids, structured, block-structured and unstructured boundary-fitted grids, free surface flows. The 3rd edition contains a new section dealing with grid quality and an extended description of discretization methods. The book shows common roots and basic principles for many different methods. The book also contains a great deal of practical advice for code developers and users; it is designed to be equally useful to beginners and experts. The issues of numerical accuracy, estimation and reduction of numerical errors are dealt with in detail, with many examples.

4、A Mathematical Introduction to Fluid Mechanics (Texts in Applied mathematics)
Title: A Mathematical Introduction to Fluid Mechanics (Texts in Applied Mathematics)
ISBN: 0387979182
Author: Alexandre J. Chorin / Jerrold E. Marsden
Publisher: Springer
Edition: 3 edition (June 16, 2000)
Pages: 192 pages
URL: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obido ... h=ASIN%2F0387979182
Summary:
The goal of this text is to present some of the basic ideas of fluid mechanics in a mathematically attractive manner, to present the physical background and motivation for some constructions that have been used in recent mathematical and numerical work on the Navier-Stokes equations and on hyperbolic systems, and to interest some of the students in this beautiful and difficult subject. The third edition has incorporated a number of updates and revisions, but the spirit and scope of the original book are unaltered.

5、An Introduction to Fluid Dynamics
Title: An Introduction to Fluid Dynamics
ISBN: 0521663962
Author: G. K. Batchelor / G.K. Batchelor
Publisher: Cambridge University Press
Edition: New Ed edition (February 15, 2000)
Pages: 635 pages
URL: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obido ... h=ASIN%2F0521663962
Summary:
A re-issue of Professor Batchelor´s classic text on fluid dynamics, first published in 1967.
Review
This book gives an excellent introduction to fluid dynamics ... many interesting and important photographs of fluid flows are included in order to help the students who do not have an opportunity of observing flow phenomena in a laboratory. The book also contains exercises at the end of each chapter. In comparison with many currently available books, I find this book by Batchelor especially stimulating and useful for students of applied mathematics and engineering. L. Debnath, Zentralblatt MATH

6、Fluid Dynamics : Theory, Computation, and Numerical Simulation
ISBN: 0792373510
Author: C. Pozrikidis
Publisher: Springer
Edition: 1 edition (May 31, 2001)
Hardcover: 688 pages
URL: /http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=songstech-20&path=ASIN%2F0792373510
Summary:
Fluid Dynamics: Theory, Computation, and Numerical Simulation is the only available book that extends the classical field of fluid dynamics into the realm of scientific computing in a way that is both comprehensive and accessible to the beginner. The theory of fluid dynamics, and the implementation of solution procedures into numerical algorithms, are discussed hand-in-hand and with reference to computer programming.
This book serves as an introductory course in fluid mechanics, covering traditional topics in a way that unifies theory, computation, computer programming, and numerical simulation. The approach is truly introductory, in the sense that few prerequisites are required. The audience includes not only advanced undergraduate and entry-level graduate students, but also a broad class of scientists and engineers with a general interest in scientific computing.
Two distinguishing features of the discourse are: solution procedures and algorithms are developed immediately after problem formulations are presented; and numerical methods are introduced on a need-to-know basis and in increasing order of difficulty.
A supplement to this book is the FORTRAN software library FDLIB, freely available through the Internet, whose programs explicitly illustrate how computational algorithms translate into computer code instructions. The codes of FDLIB range from introductory to advanced, and the problems considered span a broad range of applications; from laminar channel flows, to vortex flows, to flows in aerodynamics. Selected computer problems at the end of each section ask the student to run the programs for various flow conditions, and thereby study the effect of the various parameters determining or characterizing a flow.
This text is a must for practitioners and students in all fields of engineering, computational physics, scientific computing, and applied mathematics. It can be used as a text in both undergraduate and graduate courses in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and computational fluid dynamics.
