Rediscovery " +Teamgeist " --- Design A NEW Soccer Ball

Thanks zlp_ujs for gernerate the curve by UG.
I review the adiads design of  " +Teamgeist ".

Suddenly, the question raise up.
Does the curve make any sense ? Do we have a chance to optimize it?

It seems advertisement of adias give me some clue.
I write down some simple analysis and flash concept.

- Structure analysis
( Optimize target : The less connection, The better. )

- Geometry analysis
( Optimize target : The rounder geometry, the better. )

- Economic analysis
( Certainly, the need material suppose to be same,
but what is the best way to cut from a blank sheet ? )

- Aerodynamic + CFD
( I don't think ball is a good flight vehicle, a round plate is better,
  but what can we do to help Bechenham ? )

Our target is : Can we predict a World-cup Soccer Ball in 2010 year ?

Here comes another questions, why it still needs so many pieces leather to make a football?

Latest discovery on " +Teamgeist "

Construcion of " +Teamgeist ". : Ball appears composed by three layer and two complete shell.

1. Inner ball shell:  pentagons quantity = 12
It is a base shell to take inner pressure. Many pentagons structure this layer.  
This layer is a complete sphere. It suppose to be perfect mesh.
Material: Unknow A kind of Elastic Material

2. Outer ball ( Joint ):  Joint quantity = 8
It's a shroud of inner ball.
It's make by molding,
have four flame parts join together to make a complete ball.
Fuction: protect the connection of inner ball.
Material: Suppose to a stronger material than inner ball

3. Outer ball ( curve): Panel quantity = 6
It's also a shroud of inner ball.
Fuction: protect the connection of inner ball, meanwhile it's seal of outer ball Joint
Material: Suppose to a same Material of joint.

Outer ball joint + Outer ball curve = A complete outer ball shell.

Next Step :

I wonder, someone is able to build a model of 3 layers ball in UG or Pro-E ?
So that we can better check where is best connection and speration.
Mathmatica is not very strong to in design works.
