who use the button "H.W."?

When hardware graphics is available (only in the Merge Phase),
then the hardware, H.W., button is a toggle. When the H.W. button is pressed, the Hide and Fill
options produce very similar pictures; both result in a color polygon fill picture with hiddensurface
removal. The only difference is that the H.W. version has no perspective (see the angle
command).

Such as in SGI?but i dont have it.Who give me the picture?
