Release 14.5.3 Readme for EKM
Release 14.5.3 corrects a defect with EKM Release 14.5 in which overwriting repository files using FTP can corrupt some files. This defect occurs if you are using FTP for file transfer, you are overwriting a file that already exists in the repository, and it is one of the following file types:
Abaqus Input (.inp)
Ansys Input (.inp, .dat)
Fluent Data (.dat)
Nastran Bulk Data (.bdf, .nas, .dat)
PolyflowData (.dat)
As a result of this defect, an initial section of the file is truncated, corrupting the data in the repository.
This service pack should be installed as a patch to ANSYS Release 14.5. These instructions apply to all Windows and Linux systems on which EKM is supported.
Windows Installation:
Stop the EKM server. See the EKM documentation for specific instructions on stopping the EKM server.
Obtain the path to the EKM server (EKM_BASE), C:\ekm145 by default.
Download the file ANSYSEKM14.5.3_WINX64.ZIP to temporary folder.
Check for the use of either JBoss or Tomcat. In the EKM_BASE\programs directory, you will see one of the following:
jboss-5.1.0.GA
apache-tomcat-6.0.32
If you found the JBoss directory, delete the ekm-14.5.war file in the jboss-5.1.0.GA\server\ekm\deploy directory.
If you found the Tomcat directory, delete the ekm.war file in the apache-tomcat-6.0.32\webapps directory. Also delete the apache-tomcat-6.0.32\webapps\ekm directory.
Extract the contents of the ANSYSEKM14.5.3_WINX64.ZIP zip file to a temporary directory.
Copy the files ekm-14.5.3.war and about.properties from the temporary directory to the EKM_BASE\ekm-server directory, overwriting the existing about.properties file in the EKM_BASE\ekm-server directory. Do not delete or rename the existing ekm-14.5.war file in the EKM_BASE\ekm-server directory.
After copying these files, the EKM_BASE\ekm-server directory will contain the files ekm-14.5.war, ekm-14.5.3.war, and about.properties.
If using JBoss, copy the file ekm-14.5.3.war from the temporary directory to the jboss-5.1.0.GA\server\ekm\deploy directory.
If using Tomcat, copy the file ekm-14.5.3.war from the temporary directory to the apache-tomcat-6.0.32\webapps directory, and rename it to ekm.war.
Start the EKM server. See the EKM documentation for specific instructions on starting the EKM server.
Linux Installation:
Stop the EKM server. See the EKM documentation for specific instructions on stopping the EKM server.
Obtain the path to the EKM server (EKM_BASE), /home/ekm145 by default.
Download the file ANSYSEKM14.5.3_LINX64.TAR to temporary folder.
Check for the use of either JBoss or Tomcat. In the EKM_BASE/programs directory, you will see one of the following:
jboss-5.1.0.GA
apache-tomcat-6.0.32
If you found the JBoss directory, delete the ekm-14.5.war file in the jboss-5.1.0.GA/server/ekm/deploy directory.
If you found the Tomcat directory, delete the ekm.war file in the apache-tomcat-6.0.32/webapps directory. Also delete the apache-tomcat-6.0.32/webapps/ekm directory.
Extract the contents of the ANSYSEKM14.5.3_WINX64.TAR zip file to a temporary directory.
tar –xvf ANSYSEKM14.5.3_LINX64.TAR
Copy the files ekm-14.5.3.war and about.properties from the temporary directory to the EKM_BASE/ekm-server directory, overwriting the existing about.properties file in the EKM_BASE/ekm-server directory. Do not delete or rename the existing ekm-14.5.war file in the EKM_BASE\ekm-server directory.
After copying these files, the EKM_BASE/ekm-server directory will contain the files ekm-14.5.war, ekm-14.5.3.war, and about.properties.
If using JBoss, copy the file ekm-14.5.3.war from the temporary directory to the jboss-5.1.0.GA/server/ekm/deploy directory.
If using Tomcat, copy the file ekm-14.5.3.war from the temporary directory to the apache-tomcat-6.0.32/webapps directory, and rename it to ekm.war.
Start the EKM server. See the EKM documentation for specific instructions on starting the EKM server.
