Hey guys,
I was working on Hydraulic fracturing in soil material (cohesive and cohesionless soil)using abaqus. The soil was modeled using M-C model. Basically, soil material has zero tensile strength, so it will crack (or tensile failure) if one of those stresses (say, s11, s22 or s33) became zero.
The thing is: during the simulation in abaqus using M-C model, the stress (s11 for plane strain) will continue decreasing once it become zero if shear failure criterion is not met .
So I wanna know, is it possible to control those, say….keep the stress zero once tensile failure is met till M-C plasticity appear?????? ??
Is there someone also working on hydrofracturing problem in soil? ?????
Thanks in advance!
