You can use other constitutive models such as MCC.
For shield tunneling, upheaval is very common, especially for the ground surface ahead of the tunnel face. You'd better get better understanding of the reason causing the settlement of ground surface. Various factors can induce the settlement of the surface including the overcutting, the insufficient supporting pressure, the insufficient grouting volume and pressure, and so on. For the overcutting, as far as I know, it is related to the volume loss during tunneling process. Usually, we have already been able to get a volume loss within 0.3% during the practical tunneling. Consequently, overcutting is not a major factor causing the settlement in this case. But if you still want to obtain settlement in your results, you can include the overcutting in your FE model. |
