Hi Zhu,

You need to create two logically distinct domains (geometries) and
decide what equations to solve in each, keeping in mind that the
coupling strategy for linking the variables in each domain.  In
Chapter 7 of my book (Process Modeling and Simulation with Finite
Element Methods) there is an example of solving the population
balances equations (integrodifferential system) by way of creating a
1-D and a 2-D domain, and then linking the variables using coupling
variables (extrusion and projection).  I think this is a good
starting point for you.
